Miles Austin OUT 3-5 Weeks

DallasCowboys.com is reporting that Miles Austin will be out at least 3 weeks with an injury to his right hamstring (last time it was his left). Austin could be out as long as 5 weeks.

Laurent Robinson will likely start at the number two WR next week against the Bills.

Tony Romo Played With a Punctured Lung And More

By now, you’ve no doubt heard that Tony Romo finished the second half of Sunday’s game against the 49ers with a punctured lung in addition to a fractured rib.

What you probably haven’t heard is that he also lead the team to victory while:

1. Chewing gum.

2. Texting

3. Conjuring the Holy Ghost to inhabit Jesse Holley

4. Canceling his Netflix subscription.

5. Talking trash about how planking is so passé, then planking for the comedic irony.

6. Breathing smoke into his lungs between plays and blowing out smoke rings from the puncture in his lung.

7. Reading his timeline on Twitter so he could watch his haters do a 180 in real time.

*UPDATE* 8. Team officials are now reporting Romo may have had a collapsed lung.

Banged Up

I can’t remember a season in recent memory in which the Cowboys have hobbled into the opening game like this.

Mike Jenkins suffered a knee injury in practice recently, meaning we could be missing both our starting corners against the Jets, and now Tyron Smith’s knee could cause him to miss 2-4 weeks pending an MRI.

The team is hopeful Smith could still start the season opener, but the possibility of him being absent for as many as four weeks exposes some depth concerns.

So Martellus Bennett is probably going to miss the first regular season game against the Jets because of a right high ankle sprain. If you ask me, he’s missed every regular season game since he was drafted, so who cares.
